Hi,
in Bosch technical information datasheet is says this
4.3.2 System measures:
- Never switch on sensor heating resp. control unit before engine start.
- Delay of sensor heater start or reduced heater power (see section 1.6)
But also it is warned that using the sensor without powering it during the engine is running the exhaust can damage the sensor.
I want to use the shield in a car but what am i supposed to do? Should i first switch the shield on and the starting the engine or should i first start the engine and then switch on the shield?
Hope you can help

Hello CarUser,
Bosch are quite clear on this in the documentation: "Heating the sensor before the engine is started is not allowed."
Hope it helps.
