Spi pins
Spi pins
Hello,
Is there a possibility to change the SPI pins?
At the moment they are hardware, but I run other stuf and easiest would be to change the SPI pins of the wideband sketch...
I’m using an arduino Pro.
Is it just a matter of defining the correct (software) spi pins?
Will the sketch support those slower software spi rates?
Thx
Kevin

Re: Spi pins
Hi Kevin,
SPI speed should not be an issue. Currently it is running with an SPI clock in kHz.
You actually don't need any SPI communication at all. Just set adcValue_UR_Optimal to 175 and remove everything SPI. Have a look at the Lambda Shield smartphone code.

Re: Lambda Shield stuck heating
Hi Christian,
Continueing on this topic, our board is heating just fine.
Leds blinks until hot, and goes solid=heating cycle done.
However;
-the sensor is hot(good)
-the analog output is still in pwm 1s/2.5V(strange)
-serial debug indicates sensor is still heating and never seems to switch to measuring lambda.(bad)
What can cause this?

When running the example code for either Lambda Shield or Lambda Shield 2, whichever you use. What is the value of adcValue_UR_Optimal?
Thank you.

Re: Lambda Shield stuck heating
You said previously to change the optimal ADC-ur value to 175 in the sketch without SPI commands.

I moved your posts to the original thread so we can follow it more easily.
Can you please share your code and the serial output.

Re: Spi pins
Kevin, it seems you are reseting the optimal target value with the cold temp value as the CJ125 is not put in calibration mode over SPI anymore. So after warmup the sensor goes "cold" again.kevin wrote: ↑19 Aug 2020 13:01Code: Select all

Replace with the following preset values instead:
Code: Select all
adcValue_UA_Optimal = 307;
adcValue_UR_Optimal = 175;
Code: Select all
adcValue_UA_Optimal = analogRead(UA_ANALOG_INPUT_PIN);

Re: Spi pins
With those 2 values in the sketch, the led now keeps blinking “heating cycle” and never quit

Re: Spi pins
I checked your code by replacing the pins to a standard Arduino Uno. Everything works fine except there is no serial output from the measurements.
These lines were missing. Here is my output with your modified code + the missing lines:
Code: Select all
//Increment serial output counter and delay for next cycle. The PID requires to be responsive but we don't need to flood the serial port.
serial_counter++;
delay(10);
Code: Select all
Device reset.
Device ready.
Reading calibration data.
UA_Optimal (λ = 1.00): 307 (λ = 1.00)
UR_Optimal: 175
Heating sensor.
Measuring, CJ125: 0x0, UA_ADC: 869, UR_ADC: 113, UBat_ADC: 790, Lambda: -, Oxygen: 20.95%
Measuring, CJ125: 0x0, UA_ADC: 864, UR_ADC: 138, UBat_ADC: 789, Lambda: -, Oxygen: 20.95%
Measuring, CJ125: 0x0, UA_ADC: 858, UR_ADC: 172, UBat_ADC: 788, Lambda: -, Oxygen: 20.95%
Have you had it working before? It sounds like you are using an aftermarket sensor and not a genuine Bosch. It is common for them to not reach operating temperature. You can output the adcValue_UR when heating to see what is going on. If it remains higher than 175 it is not heating properly.
